Terms of Service

Last updated: July 4, 2026

These terms cover use of toolhost.online, docs.toolhost.online, the developer portal (app.toolhost.online), and any ToolHost-hosted gateway or console instances (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. ToolHost is an early-stage product under active development — these terms will evolve as the product does.

The Service

ToolHost provides a gateway that governs access between AI agents and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, along with a developer portal for provisioning API keys and an operator console for managing policy, backends, and audit data. ToolHost's software can be self-hosted; where you self-host, you are responsible for the deployment, the backends you connect, and the data those backends process.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep API keys and credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your keys.
  • Use the Service in compliance with applicable law and with the terms of any third-party MCP backend or AI client you connect through it.
  • Do not use the Service to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other controls of third-party systems you connect to.
  • You are responsible for the legality and appropriateness of any backend or tool you configure the gateway to call.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. ToolHost is under active development; features, APIs, and configuration formats may change, and we'll do our best to document breaking changes in the changelog rather than silently.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ToolHost is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including damages arising from the behavior of third-party MCP backends, AI clients, or agents connected through it.

Self-hosted deployments

If you self-host the gateway, you operate that instance under your own infrastructure and are responsible for securing it, keeping it updated, and complying with any laws applicable to the data it processes. ToolHost provides the software and documentation; it does not operate or have access to your self-hosted instance.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
